Belize's Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve
North of Belmopan City, the Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve Belize offers an extensive network of limestone cave systems that are popular for nohoch che'en cave tubing and nohoch che'en ziplining. As the Caves Branch River flows through nineteen caves, it provides ideal conditions for tubing or exploring side passages, such as the spectacular Crystal Cave, which leads to other caves.
An introductory 1/12-hour cave tubing tour allows you to see schools of eyeless cave fish, stalactites, and mysterious Maya paintings on the cave ceiling. In addition to the life vests and helmets, the tubes are linked together from time to time for safety. The turnoff for Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve is at Mile 37 on the George Price Hwy; then, it's 6 miles down a sealed road to the reserve entrance. The reserve has toilets, snack shops, cave tubing, and a zipline.
