Itinerary

Your step-by-step tour plan

  1. 1
Early island connection from San Pedro

Start the day from San Pedro by the selected island connection: water taxi, local flight, or self-arranged travel to Belize City. Hotel-to-terminal transport on the island is not included unless separately arranged.

  2. 2
Meet your mainland guide in Belize City

Meet your Private Belize Adventure guide at the confirmed Belize City water taxi terminal or airport meeting point, then continue by private mainland transportation.

  3. 3
    Travel west toward Cayo

Drive across the mainland with your guide setting the pace, reviewing the day's route, and adjusting the order when weather, water levels, or site timing requires it.

  4. 4
    Explore Xunantunich Maya ruins

Cross the Mopan River by hand-cranked ferry and tour Xunantunich's plazas, temples, ball court, and El Castillo area with historical context from your guide.

  5. 5
    Rainforest cave tubing

Gear up with helmet, light, tube, and life vest, then follow the cave tubing route through Belize's limestone cave system when river conditions are safe.

  6. 6
    Jungle zipline course

Complete the zipline safety briefing and ride the canopy course with operator-provided harness and helmet.

  7. 7
Return to Belize City for San Pedro connection

Return to the confirmed mainland terminal or airport for the trip back to San Pedro. Return timing is reviewed around the selected island connection.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tour from San Pedro or Belize City?

The tour is sold for San Pedro guests, but the guided mainland portion begins after you reach Belize City. Choose the water taxi, local flight, or self-arranged island connection option when booking.

Is the water taxi or local flight included?

It depends on the option selected at booking. If you choose a water taxi or flight option, that connection is arranged as part of the booking. If you choose self-arranged transportation, you are responsible for your own island connection.

Do you pick up from my San Pedro hotel?

Island hotel pickup is not included by default. Guests normally make their own way to the San Pedro water taxi terminal or airstrip unless a separate local transfer is arranged in writing.

How long is the day?

Plan for a full day of about 12 hours or more from San Pedro. It is an early start with a late return because the tour combines island travel, road travel, Xunantunich, cave tubing, and ziplining.

Is this good for cruise passengers?

No. This tour is not recommended for cruise schedules. The route is too long from San Pedro and should not be treated as a shore excursion.

Do I need to know how to swim for cave tubing?

You should be comfortable in river conditions, but cave tubing uses mandatory life vests and operator-provided gear. Final operation depends on safe water levels and guide/operator judgment.

Can children join this tour?

Families can request this tour, but children must meet the current cave tubing and zipline operator requirements for height, weight, gear fit, and activity safety. Confirm ages and sizes before booking.

Can we climb El Castillo at Xunantunich?

When site conditions and rules allow, guests may climb El Castillo. The climb involves steep steps and is optional, so guests can stay lower on the site if they prefer.

Is lunch included?

Lunch is not included unless your written confirmation says otherwise. Your guide can plan a practical food stop when timing allows.
