Private Belize Adventure strongly recommends that every guest purchase travel insurance before traveling to Belize or booking tours. Belize is a beautiful destination for private tours, shore excursions, caves, ruins, islands, snorkeling, wildlife, and outdoor adventures, but travel plans can be affected by events outside anyone’s control.

Why travel insurance matters

Travel insurance may help protect guests from unexpected costs related to trip cancellation, flight delays, missed connections, cruise itinerary changes, illness, injury, medical care, emergency evacuation, lost or delayed luggage, weather disruptions, family emergencies, and other travel problems.

Tour operator insurance is not your personal insurance

Private Belize Adventure works to operate responsibly and with appropriate tour arrangements. However, any tour operator insurance, vehicle insurance, vessel insurance, guide coverage, supplier coverage, or public liability insurance is not the same as a traveler’s personal travel insurance. Guests should not rely on operator insurance as a replacement for their own coverage.

Adventure and activity coverage

Guests should review their policy carefully to confirm whether it covers the specific activities they plan to do, such as snorkeling, swimming, boating, cave tubing, ziplining, hiking, ruins, wildlife areas, private transfers, and cruise shore excursions.

Medical and evacuation coverage

Guests should consider coverage for medical treatment and emergency evacuation. Some locations in Belize may be remote, and emergency care or transport may involve additional cost, time, or coordination.

Cruise and flight disruptions

Cruise passengers and international travelers should consider coverage for itinerary changes, delayed arrivals, missed port calls, weather disruptions, airline delays, and missed connections.
