Private Belize Adventure strongly recommends that every traveler visiting Belize purchase personal travel insurance before the trip. Belize tours can involve outdoor activities, water, caves, boats, road transfers, remote areas, weather changes, and international travel connections.
Why travel insurance matters
A tour operator may carry business insurance, but that does not replace your own travel insurance. Guests may still be responsible for medical bills, evacuation costs, hospital payments, lost luggage, missed flights, water taxi changes, cruise itinerary changes, trip interruption, or other personal expenses.
Coverage to consider
Before traveling to Belize, review policies that may include trip cancellation, trip interruption, travel delay, emergency medical care, medical evacuation, repatriation, lost or delayed baggage, missed connections, and coverage for outdoor or adventure activities.
If you plan to snorkel, zipline, horseback ride, cave tube, visit remote areas, or join active tours, confirm that those activities are not excluded from your policy.
Medical evacuation coverage
Medical evacuation coverage is especially important for international travel and remote destinations. If a serious illness or injury occurs, local treatment, ambulance transport, boat or road transfer, air evacuation, or repatriation can create large costs.
Cruise, island, and flight connections
Travel insurance can also help when plans change outside the tour operator’s control. Cruise ships may change itinerary, tenders may be delayed, water taxis may change schedule, local flights can be affected by weather, and international flights may arrive late.
What to check before buying
Read the policy carefully. Confirm the covered dates, country, activities, medical limits, evacuation limits, cancellation reasons, pre-existing condition rules, documentation requirements, and emergency contact process. Carry your policy number, emergency phone number, and claim instructions while traveling.
No insurance sales by Private Belize Adventure
Private Belize Adventure does not act as an insurance company and does not decide whether a claim is covered. Any insurance purchase is between the traveler and the insurance provider. We recommend comparing policies and choosing a provider that matches your trip.
