This Privacy Policy explains how Private Belize Adventure collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects personal information when a person visits this website, sends an inquiry, submits a booking, makes a payment through a connected provider, communicates with us, or participates in a tour.
We aim to handle personal information fairly, transparently, and only for legitimate business, booking, safety, and legal purposes. This policy is designed to support applicable privacy obligations, including the principles of Belize’s Data Protection Act, 2021 where applicable.

This policy applies to personal information handled by Private Belize Adventure through the website, direct booking channels, customer service, tour operations, and related records. A marketplace, hotel, travel advisor, attraction, payment provider, insurer, airline, water taxi, social network, or other independent service has its own privacy practices for information it controls.
3. Information we may collect
Contact and identity information

Health, accessibility, and safety information
When voluntarily provided and reasonably necessary for safe planning, we may receive mobility needs, allergies, pregnancy information, swimming concerns, dietary requirements, relevant medical limitations, or emergency notes. Please provide only information needed to evaluate or coordinate the tour.

IP address, browser and device type, approximate location, pages viewed, referring page, campaign or affiliate reference, form and security events, cookie or consent signals, and interactions used to understand or protect the website.
Policy and waiver records
Policy version, acceptance date, booking details, and any activity-specific waiver or acknowledgment reasonably needed for the reservation, safety, or legal record.
4. How information is collected
Information may come directly from the traveler or primary booker through forms, checkout, email, phone, WhatsApp, payment, or in-person communication. It may also come from a group organizer, affiliate, hotel, marketplace, travel advisor, carrier, attraction, or other supplier involved in a requested or confirmed service.
Technical information may be generated through WordPress, hosting and security tools, analytics, referral tracking, cookies, tags, logs, and connected services.
5. Why we use personal information
We may use information to:
- respond to questions and provide tour recommendations;
- check availability, prepare a quotation, and create or manage a booking;
- calculate prices, deposits, balances, discounts, transport, and add-ons;
- coordinate guides, vehicles, boats, attractions, pickup, and safety needs;
- process or reconcile payments, refunds, disputes, and accounting records;
- send confirmations, reminders, operational updates, and customer support;
- prevent spam, fraud, abuse, unsafe participation, and security incidents;
- maintain policy, waiver, incident, and service records;
- understand website use and improve content, forms, tours, and advertising;
- manage legitimate affiliate or referral attribution; and
- meet tax, accounting, legal, insurance, safety, and dispute obligations.
Depending on the context, these activities may be necessary to take steps requested before a booking, perform a contract, protect a person’s vital interests, meet a legal obligation, pursue a legitimate business interest, or act with consent.
6. Health and other sensitive information
Health, mobility, allergy, or similar information is used only when reasonably relevant to safety, suitability, accessibility, emergency response, or a guest request. We do not ask customers to provide a full medical history. This information may be shared with a guide or activity provider only to the extent reasonably needed to assess or support participation.
In an emergency, relevant information may be provided to medical or emergency personnel when reasonably necessary to protect a person’s health or life.
9. International processing and transfers
Private Belize Adventure operates in Belize, while website hosting, analytics, communications, payment, backup, or customer-service providers may process information in other countries. A transfer may also be necessary to process an international payment, communicate with a traveler, or perform the booking.
Where applicable, we use the provider’s contractual and security measures and limit the information shared to what is reasonably necessary for the service.
10. How long information is kept
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected and for legitimate accounting, tax, safety, insurance, fraud-prevention, customer-service, and legal needs. Retention depends on the type of record:
- uncompleted inquiries may be deleted or anonymized when no longer useful for follow-up or security;
- booking, payment, refund, and accounting records may be retained for required financial and legal periods;
- policy acceptance, waiver, incident, and safety records may be retained while a claim or legal issue could reasonably arise;
- technical and security logs may be retained for shorter operational periods unless needed for an incident; and
- marketing information is retained until consent is withdrawn, an objection is received, or it is no longer needed.
Backups may retain information for a limited additional period before routine deletion or replacement.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information, including access controls, secure connections, anti-spam and security checks, payment redirection to established providers, backups, and software maintenance. No website, email, messaging platform, or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Customers should avoid sending complete card details, unnecessary medical records, passwords, or highly sensitive documents through ordinary email or WhatsApp.
12. Privacy choices and rights
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, a person may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about them;
- provide access to or a copy of relevant information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- delete information that is no longer necessary;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent for future processing based on consent; or
- stop direct marketing.
Some requests may be limited where information must be retained for a booking, accounting, safety, fraud, dispute, legal obligation, or the rights of another person. A person may also have the right to raise a concern with the Belize Data Protection Commissioner where the Data Protection Act applies.
13. Booking communication and marketing
Messages reasonably needed to answer an inquiry, confirm a booking, coordinate pickup, provide safety information, collect a balance, or support a customer are operational communications. Promotional messages are separate. A person may ask us to stop promotional messages at any time without affecting a confirmed booking.
14. Children and group bookings
Website booking forms are intended for adults. A parent, guardian, or authorized adult should provide information for a child when necessary for a family booking or safety. Do not submit a child’s information unless authorized and reasonably needed for the tour.
15. External websites and services
Links to payment providers, insurers, social platforms, maps, carriers, attractions, or other websites are provided for convenience or service delivery. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own policies. Review those policies before submitting information.
16. Updates and privacy contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, technology, providers, or business practices. The effective date and version at the top identify the current policy.
Send privacy requests or questions to info@privatebelizeadventure.com. Include enough information to identify the relevant inquiry or booking, but do not send passwords or complete payment-card details. You may also call or WhatsApp +501 610-5460.
