About 3-Day Belize Highlights Escape
Three days are enough to see that mainland Belize is not one single landscape. This private package begins with a northern Mayan-and-conservation day, continues west for Xunantunich and cave tubing, and finishes on the New River route to Lamanai. It is designed for guests staying in Belize City, Ladyville, or near the international airport who want variety without packing and changing hotels each night.
Day 1 — Altun Ha and the Community Baboon Sanctuary. Walk through Altun Ha’s principal plazas with a guide and learn why the site linked the Caribbean coast with inland Mayan communities. The second stop shifts from archaeology to a community conservation landscape where black howler monkeys live in the forest corridor. Wildlife is free-ranging, so sightings and proximity can never be guaranteed.
Day 2 — Xunantunich and cave tubing. Travel west to San José Succotz, cross the Mopan River by hand-cranked ferry, and explore Xunantunich’s plazas and El Castillo area. Later, change pace for a guided river-cave float. This is the most active day of the package and includes road time, uneven ruins terrain, a forest walk, safety gear, water, and dark cave passages.
Day 3 — Lamanai and the New River. The journey north continues by boat along the New River to the Lamanai archaeological reserve. The river environment is part of the experience, with possible bird, iguana, or crocodile sightings depending on conditions. At Lamanai, the guide connects the temples, forest, Spanish church remains, and the site’s unusually long history of occupation.
Your hotel is not included; you reserve and pay for lodging separately. Private Belize Adventure coordinates the confirmed activity days, daily pickup and return, guides, and tour transportation. Before quoting the package, we review your dates, hotel, group size, children’s ages, mobility, and water comfort. If one day is unsuitable or unavailable, we discuss a practical substitution and any price difference before payment.
